Yedidim means “friends” in Hebrew, and if you’re looking for new friends to help you through the joyful mess of raising Jewish children in New Hampshire, then this is the group for you!  Together we have formed a young family group for families of all types:  Jewish, interfaith, not originally born Jewish - all are welcome at Yedidim.  If you have children between the ages of newly minted and eight years old, please join us! Given the exciting programming we have planned for the coming year, there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer or host an event!  You can reach Jessie Mocle, Yedidim Director, with any questions or comments:

Yedidim Family Sunday School
Join us for your child’s first Hebrew School experience at the Yedidim Family Sunday School.  Aimed at kids 2-3 years old and their caregivers, this innovative monthly program is caregiver facilitated with planning support and guidance from subject matter experts and certified teachers.  We will create a fun and engaging environment where students will learn about Jewish holidays, Hebrew language, and Jewish values through age appropriate activities, games and songs.  Yedidim Family Sunday School takes place monthly on Sunday mornings from 10AM - 12PM, Philip Porter Religious School.

Register for Sunday, May 12!

Build a Shabbat Workshop
Your kids will love this creative monthly approach to celebrating Shabbat!  Each month, join us for a Shabbat-related project, kid-approved dinner and short, joyful, song-filled, kid-friendly Friday night service.  Your kids will receive their own Build a Shabbat Workshop apron to use for the duration of the workshop series, as well as a commemorative pin upon completion of each project.  If your child attends all six workshops, they will earn a certificate of achievement and a special gift! Build memories with your child, and enjoy using the special crafts they create at your own Shabbat table at home afterward!

Register for Friday, May 31!

Potluck Popup Havdalah
Interested in an easy, low key way to celebrate the spirit of Shabbat? Potluck Popup Havdalah delivers a complete service in a box, containing everything you need to celebrate the departure of Shabbat.  If you’d like to host a Potluck Popup Havdalah in your home, Yedidim families will bring the kid-friendly dairy or pareve food and dessert, and we’ll all experience the gentle fellowship of saying goodbye to Shabbat. This month’s host address will be sent to you after you register.

MNO - Moms’ Night Out!
Do you feel guilty that your toddler is watching yet another Daniel Tiger episode while you change your infant’s 17th diaper of the morning? Come out and commiserate with other moms!  Events to include paint your own pottery, group retail therapy at the Merrimack outlets, and watching a real movie at the real theatre with no kid hands in your popcorn.

DNO - Dads’ Night Out!
Get out of the house and have fun, Dads!  Take a hike with other fathers, without having to carry the child with the boo-boo foot two miles in the staggering heat.  Get your lucky Pats jersey ready, and chill with dad dudes at Boston Billiard Club.  Have a game night with friends who also appreciate not having to fish legos out of the baby’s mouth every time your back is turned.
