BABKA Book List

Temple Beth Abraham Sisterhood is an affiliate of The Women's League for Conservative Judaism and an active participant in the region.

What is Sisterhood ?

Sisterhood sustains and grows:

Our perpetuation of Conservative Judaism – through our support of Torah Fund, which in turn funds the education of the future Rabbinate at the Jewish Theological Seminary in NY, and though other educational events.

Our covenant with and love for Israel – by providing financial assistance to our students who request support for their trips to Israel, so that they in turn will develop that same love and support, and by sponsoring the annual Shalom Israel Fair at TBA.

Our commandment of kashrut – by maintaining a kosher kitchen for all to share and use for each Simcha.

Our ritual of Onegim and Kiddushim – by supplying the food we eat on Shabbat when there are no Simchot being celebrated; and by funding the staff for setup and cleanup of each Oneg and Kiddush.

Our support for those in need – by visiting the sick (bikkur holim), helping the elderly, or assisting with shiva preparations, Sisterhood members provide their time and support to members of the Jewish community.

Our commitment to Tzedakah – by holding our semi-annual rummage sale to give back to the greater Nashua community, with goods sold and donated, and with financial support, and thru other projects including support for the Nashua Soup Kitchen

Our next generation of Jewish adults – by providing care packages for High Holidays, Hanukkah, Purim and Pesach, to students enrolled in College Outreach

Our youth – by celebrating the birthdays of our children at Friday evening Shabbat services each month and providing babysitting during the high holidays

Our beautiful bima – by using Flower Fund donations adorn the synagogue with beautiful floral arrangements

Our social activities – Book Club (BABKA), Passover workshops, golf tourney, Art with a Splash, pottery-making, and more.

Sisterhood is women coming together to help each other, help the community, and have fun in the process!

Come to our events and meetings to have some time just for you.  Take time to be with other Jewish women, to learn something new, to have some fun, to have a good laugh, to help others, to feel good!

Join us for upcoming social, educational, or Community service oriented events.
