Membership General Information

Welcome to Temple Beth Abraham, centered in Nashua, New Hampshire. We are a Jewish community that welcomes interfaith families and individuals with a range of spiritual backgrounds. Our congregation was established in 1895 but is committed to continuous improvement to meet the current needs of the community. Temple Beth Abraham currently includes 260 households comprised of approximately 460 adults and 100 children.

Our community’s commitment to innovation reflects a spirit of ongoing renewal.  During the past few years, we have introduced expanded musical offerings; alternative High Holiday, Shabbat, and holiday services; opportunities for engagement in Tikkun Olam and social justice projects; and a re-imagined education program including Yedidim for families of young children ages 0-4 and robust experiences for children ages 5-13 and teens. At Temple Beth Abraham, you will have many opportunities to meet new friends, get involved in the congregation, and engage in issues of interest in the Greater Nashua area.

As an official member, you will have access to the services of our rabbi and community for life-cycle events, and to programs of all sorts at reduced or no cost.

Temple Beth Abraham recently adopted the Annual Financial Commitment model to replace fixed dues categories. The Annual Financial Commitment is built on our community’s values:

  • Membership in our congregation should be affordable for everyone
  • Everyone’s contribution is valued equally, and
  • Everyone can view their contribution as an important commitment that helps sustain the synagogue as the center of our Jewish community today and for generations to come.

Our community’s commitment to giving finds its roots in Terumah, the Hebrew word for gift.  Gifts to support the Temple Beth Abraham community uplift each of us. In this spirit, members pledge an Annual Financial Commitment based on a suggested annual sustaining amount.  Members pledge at, above, or below the suggested sustaining amount based on personal financial circumstances. Financial ability to contribute is never a barrier to membership in the Temple Beth Abraham community.

Together, we are working to strengthen the Greater Nashua area Jewish community, while contributing to the enrichment of the New Hampshire Jewish community at large. We look forward to welcoming you to our thriving community for prayer, friendship, celebration, support through lifecycle events, and life-long Jewish learning.
