Wedding Ceremony
Rabbi Jon is available to officiate at weddings that take place within a reasonable distance of Nashua. If you’d like him to officiate or are interested in the possibility, make sure to check with him before you finalize a date with family and a venue.
The essential elements of a Jewish wedding ceremony include the signing of a ketubah (Jewish marriage document), the traditional veiling of the bride called bedecken, a chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy), the giving of one or two rings, blessings over wine or grape juice, and certain other traditional blessings known as Birkat Erusin (betrothal blessing) and Sheva Brachot (“Seven Blessings”). These may be elaborated, other things may be incorporated, and other people may have roles in the ceremony. You can talk with the rabbi about the details.
Pre-Marriage Conversations
Rabbi Jon would love to meet with any couple who are getting married. Regardless of who is performing your wedding, it is important for you to spend time with someone who can help you talk together about what it means to be married and to create a Jewish home together. Same-Sex Weddings
The Beth Abraham facility and the rabbi are available for Jewish weddings between people of the opposite sex and of the same sex.
Blessing Before Marriage in the Temple
We would be honored to call you to the Torah before your wedding for an aufruf, the celebration of an upcoming marriage. When a person who is Jewish and a person who is not Jewish are getting married, we call you up at the end of the service for a blessing in the presence of the congregation.

What If One Partner Is Not Jewish?
As a married couple we hope you will become part of our community and the wider Jewish community, here or wherever you live now and in the future. Rabbi Jon would love to help you plan your ceremony and have pre-marriage meetings, and we would love as a community to call you up for a pre-marriage blessing. At this time, Rabbi Jon only officiates when both partners are Jewish.
Is There a Fee?
If you are part of a Beth Abraham family there is no extra fee. If one or both of you or any of your parents are not already a member, in lieu of a special fee you will become a new member!
