High Holy Days

The High Holy Days are coming soon! Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of Wednesday, September 20 and continues through Friday, September 22.  Yom Kippur begins on the evening of Friday, September 29 and continues through Saturday, September 30.

Here is a glossary of some Jewish concepts, greetings, and other terminology related to the month of Elul, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur.

Service schedule for Rosh Hashannah:

Rosh Hashannah Evening: Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 8:00PM

Rosh Hashannah First Day: Thursday, Sept. 21

    Morning Services at 9:00AM

    Evening Services at 7:30PM

Rosh Hashannah Second Day: Friday, Sept. 22

    Morning Services at 9:00AM


Service schedule for Yom Kippur:

Yom Kippur Evening ("Kol Nidre"):  Friday, Sept. 29 at 6:00PM

Yom Kippur Day:  Saturday, Sept. 30--

  Morning begins 9:00 AM, Afternoon begins 4:45 PM, End of the fast about 7:15 PM
  3:45 PM Program/discussion before afternoon service

Children and teens are welcome with you in the main service any time. In addition, beginning at 10:00 AM are services and discussions for children and teens. Teens join the adults during the Torah reading and sermon; other children join after Yizkor (approximately 12/12:15PM).

Grades PreK-2 in Youth Lounge at back of right-hand hallway

Grades 3-7 in Chapel

Grades 8-9 discussion in Religious School building across the street, 1st room on right of hallway

Grades 10-12 discussion in Religious School building, big room at the end of the hallway
