Affordable Housing and the Nashua Municipal Elections -- Zoom Presentation With Rabbi Jon and Rev. Sally Newhall

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 14 Cheshvan 5782

8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Greater Nashua is missing between 2,000 and 4,000 places to live that are affordable to the people whose lives are centered in our area. The Greater Nashua Interfaith Housing Justice Group is working to eliminate that shortfall over the 2020 decade.

Learn what initiatives are coming up in the City of Nashua after this November's election and how you can support them by communicating with candidates for office and in other ways:

  • getting candidates to commit to the Affordable Housing Pledge (see below)
  • funding the newly created Affordable Housing Trust Fund
  • tasking American Rescue Plan Act funds for affordable housing
  • implementing the new Nashua Master Plan through updates in land use regulations

Affordable Housing Pledge:

  • Support the addition of 2,000 new units of affordable housing in the City of Nashua from 2020-2030
  • Support the funding of Nashua's new affordable housing trust fund at an annual level of $5 million
  • Require any new multiunit housing project either to include affordable units or to pay into the trust fund
