Music and Art

Arts and music are at the center of Jewish spirituality, and they are a rich part of Jewish culture. Our community includes many talented musicians and artists. Our services, our celebration hall, and our atrium have been filled with the songs and artwork of congregants, students in our school, and performing artists who have come to work with us.

  • View our stained glass Sanctuary windows representing the days of Creation, designed by our member and teacher Ruth Weiner Harris
  • Listen to our house band, the Raymond Street Klezmer Band, who perform at simchas and holidays here as well as gigs throughout New England
  • Learn some of our songs and melodies, and explore our Shabbat Morning Synaplex, which concludes in congregational song
  • We are a pilot site for the Bible Raps Project, which has worked for two years with our Religious School helping our students create music blending contemporary rhythms, Jewish texts, and their own midrashim. Past guests and artists-in-residence have included Sam Glaser and the duo of Jessica Kate Meyer and Becky Wexler.

Temple Beth Abraham is fortunate to have many talented congregants. We'll share some of their work here.

  • Music   ( 2 Articles )

Music is an integral part of Beth Abraham. Davening is full of congregational voices, our wonderful Hazzan Stan Juda all led by Rabbi Jon. Whether it be older traditional melodies or newly introduced melodies everybody sings! We are honored and delighted to have had the Raymond Street Klezmer band headquartered at Beth Abraham. They have been more than 20 years in the making and have played joyously for many smachot.
